The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Wayland Police Department's official public log for the period February 16 – March 1, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).
Monday, Feb. 16, 10:50 a.m. — Flooding/Alarm: A Ravine Road resident reported water in her basement had triggered an alarm; the Fire Department pumped out the water.
Monday, Feb. 16, 11:18 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Damage: A Caulfield Road resident reported damage to his parked car.
Monday, Feb. 16, 4:26 p.m. — Vandalism: A resident of Aqueduct Road reported that someone had egged her house and poured maple syrup on her vehicle.
Monday, Feb. 16, 4:55 p.m. — Vandalism: A Shaw Drive resident reported the home's mailbox had been vandalized.
Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2:39 p.m. — Noise Complaint: A resident of Andrew Avenue complained about a neighbor playing piano at excessive volume; the neighbor was advised.
Tuesday, Feb. 17, 9:42 p.m. — Low-Hanging Wires/Welfare Check: Low-hanging wires were reported across Maiden Lane; the telephone company was notified. Police and Fire also made entry into a home on that street to conduct a welfare check after the building was found to be in disrepair.
Wednesday, Feb. 18, 11:33 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-vehicle crash was reported on Pelham Island Road.
Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1:30 p.m. — Theft (Prior Incident): An employee of CVS Pharmacy on the 100 block of West Plain Street reported a theft that had occurred the previous Sunday.
Thursday, Feb. 19, 10:34 a.m. — Scam Report: A Dean Road resident came to the station to speak with an officer regarding an unemployment scam.
Thursday, Feb. 19, 2:09 p.m. — Shoplifting: CVS Pharmacy on the 300 block of Boston Post Road reported a shoplifting incident.
Thursday, Feb. 19, 4:03 p.m. — Scam Report: A Pequot Road resident came to the station to discuss a scam with an officer.
Friday, Feb. 20, 11:11 a.m. — Larceny: A Pickwick Way resident reported larceny from her bank account.
Friday, Feb. 20, 1:23 p.m. — Road Hazard: A large strap and buckle were reported creating a hazard at Wayland Center; the debris was moved to the corner in front of the church.
Friday, Feb. 20, 3:50 p.m. — Hazardous Activity: Two youths were reported throwing snowballs at passing vehicles on School Street; an officer located and advised them.
Friday, Feb. 20, 7:14 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A single-car crash on Rice Road at Thompson Street left the vehicle off the road with minor damage; no injuries reported.
Saturday, Feb. 21, 2:33 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident with Injury: A single-car crash on Commonwealth Road involved injuries and entrapment; the vehicle struck a fire hydrant. One person was transported to Lahey Hospital.
Saturday, Feb. 21, 7:28 a.m. — Animal Rescue: A dog fell into the water at Heard's Pond; the owner entered the water to assist. Both were safely out when first responders arrived.
Sunday, Feb. 22, 1:17 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-car accident occurred at Cochituate Commons on the 40 block of Main Street; one vehicle's registration was found to be revoked and its plates were removed by police.
Monday, Feb. 23, 8:09–10:50 a.m. — Downed Wires and Trees: Multiple storm-related incidents were reported across Wayland: a wire down and on fire on Oxbow Road (power cut, fire extinguished); a snapped secondary pole and downed cable wire on Concord Road (wire removed by Fire Department); a tree across East Plain Street (removed); a large tree down with wires and road blocked on Country Corners Road (utilities responded).
Monday, Feb. 23, 10:50 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Damage: An Alta Oxbow resident reported her car had been struck overnight.
Monday, Feb. 23, 11:50 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A car went off the roadway on Rice Road near Old Connecticut Path; no injuries reported.
Monday, Feb. 23, 2:23 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Incident: A car became stuck in snow on Lake Shore Drive; the vehicle was freed and the operator was cited.
Monday, Feb. 23, 7:40 p.m. — Fraud: A Hillside Drive resident reported two checks cashed fraudulently on her bank account.
Tuesday, Feb. 24, 9:44 a.m. — Complaint: A Michael Road resident reported that a trash truck attempted to run him off the road earlier that morning; the caller was advised.
Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2:08 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A small sedan went off Old Connecticut Path into a snowbank, damaging a mailbox and a telephone pole.
Wednesday, Feb. 25, 7:34 p.m. — Complaint: A caller on School Street at Gregory Lane reported a resident blowing snow into the street and onto passing vehicles; an officer advised the homeowner to clear the road.
Wednesday, Feb. 25, 9:26 p.m. — Gas Odor: A Snake Brook Road resident reported the smell of natural gas outside the home, describing it as an ongoing issue for several weeks; the Fire Department responded.
Thursday, Feb. 26, 11:12 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Damage: An Andrew Avenue caller reported his vehicle was damaged while parked in a lot.
Friday, Feb. 27, 1:31 p.m. — Harassment/Unwanted Contact: A caller from Weston Optical on the 70 block of Boston Post Road requested to speak with an officer regarding a series of unwanted calls and texts.
Friday, Feb. 27, 2:35 p.m. — Gas Odor: A Lake Shore Drive resident reported a gas odor inside the home.
Friday, Feb. 27, 2:42 p.m. — Loose Dog: A dog reported loose on Bow Road was reunited with its owner.
Friday, Feb. 27, 3:32 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A minor accident between a school bus and a car occurred at Wayland Middle School on the 100 block of Main Street, with approximately 10 students aboard the bus; no injuries were reported.
Saturday, Feb. 28, 6:19 p.m. — Noise Complaint: A Dudley Road resident complained about loud music from a party across the pond; the homeowners were advised.
Sunday, March 1, 9:11 a.m. — Possible Assault: The director of nursing at Royal Wayland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Commonwealth Road reported a possible assault on a resident.
Sunday, March 1, 1:20 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident with Injury: A two-car accident at the intersection at Wayland Center resulted in injury; transport to a hospital was declined.
