The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Wayland Police Department's official public log for the period April 27 – May 10, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).
Monday, April 27, 3:44 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-vehicle crash was reported at the 400 block of Boston Post Road (Alta Oxbow).
Monday, April 27, 4:41 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-car collision with no injuries occurred at the Stop & Shop parking lot on Andrew Avenue; operators exchanged information.
Tuesday, April 28, 8:30 a.m. — Disturbance/Threatening Behavior: A caller on Main Street reported feeling threatened by a man, described as a white male, approximately 40–50 years old, of short, thin build, at the entrance to a store.
Tuesday, April 28, 10:25 a.m. — Follow-Up: Officers located the individual from the earlier Main Street disturbance at another store on the same street.
Tuesday, April 28, 10:30 a.m. — Road Hazard: A tree limb was hanging in the travel lane on Pelham Island Road.
Tuesday, April 28, 10:53 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-vehicle crash involving SUVs was reported at Commonwealth Road at Loker Street.
Tuesday, April 28, 11:13 a.m. — Suspicious Person: A suspicious male was reported in a Main Street parking lot; upon officer arrival, the individual moved toward CVS.
Tuesday, April 28, 12:16 p.m. — Burning Complaint: A resident near Brook Trail Road reported concern about a large brush pile being burned; the Fire Department advised area residents about burning regulations.
Tuesday, April 28, 12:50 p.m. — Suspicious Person: A caller from Wayland Middle School on Main Street reported a white male in dark clothing lying in the roadway on Keith Road and walking back and forth toward the school.
Wednesday, April 29, 2:11 p.m. — Shoplifting/Suspicious Person: CVS staff on the 100 block of Main Street reported a party previously involved in a shoplifting case had returned to the store.
Wednesday, April 29, 4:36 p.m. — Hit-and-Run: A vehicle traveling south on Route 27 near Wayland Center was sideswiped by a dark-colored SUV that fled the scene; reported by a walk-in at the station.
Wednesday, April 29, 5:39 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A car left the roadway on Plain Road and sheared off a fire hydrant.
Thursday, April 30, 7:12 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-car crash was reported on Commonwealth Road at the Natick town line.
Thursday, April 30, 8:46 a.m. — Road Hazard: A pickup truck leaking gasoline was found on Commonwealth Road at Main Street.
Friday, May 1, 8:31 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-vehicle crash on Old Connecticut Path near Shaw Drive resulted in one vehicle rolling over; one person was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
Friday, May 1, 3:25 p.m. — Cyberbullying Report: A caller from the Carroll School on Waltham Road requested to speak with an officer about a possible cyberbullying incident.
Saturday, May 2, 10:05 a.m. — Road Hazard: A tree was blocking one lane of Shaw Drive.
Saturday, May 2, 6:30 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-vehicle crash with no injuries was reported at The Local on Andrew Avenue.
Sunday, May 3, 9:27 a.m. — Animal Incident: A deer struck by a vehicle was found injured on the side of Old Sudbury Road; the responding officer euthanized the animal.
Sunday, May 3, 12:25 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A crash with no injuries was reported at the 200 block of Boston Post Road.
Monday, May 4, 8:37 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-car crash on Glezen Lane near Concord Road sent one person to Emerson Hospital by ambulance.
Monday, May 4, 3:52 p.m. — Suspected Motor Vehicle Theft: A caller from a dealership on the 500 block of Boston Post Road reported that a customer may have swapped vehicle keys in a possible theft attempt; the incident is under investigation.
Monday, May 4, 5:52 p.m. — Fire: A mulch fire on the exterior of Walgreen's on Main Street was extinguished by the Fire Department.
Monday, May 4, 6:54 p.m. — Road Hazard: A tree branch was blocking Pelham Island Road just before the bridge; the roadway was taped off.
Tuesday, May 5, 2:48 p.m. — Scam/Elder Fraud: Eastern Bank contacted police on behalf of a caregiver to intervene and prevent an elderly resident from being victimized by a phone scam; no money was exchanged.
Wednesday, May 6, 2:30 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Stop/License Violation: Following a stop at Wayland Center, the operator of a pickup truck was found to be driving with a suspended license.
Thursday, May 7, 2:43 p.m. — Shoplifting: The manager of CVS on the 100 block of Main Street reported a shoplifting incident at the store.
Saturday, May 9, 5:50 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-car crash at Red Barn Road at Concord Road sent one person to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
Saturday, May 9, 8:09 p.m. — Shoplifting: A caller from CVS on the 100 block of Main Street reported the theft of baby items by a customer.
Sunday, May 10, 2:10 p.m. — Burning Complaint: A Glezen Lane caller reported possible unauthorized burning; the Fire Department advised the resident and the fire was to be extinguished.
