The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Wayland Police Department's official public log for the period March 2–15, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).
Monday, March 2, 2:12 p.m. — Scam Report: A resident of West Plain Street reported a scam involving DoorDash.
Monday, March 2, 2:39 p.m. — Scam Report: A resident of Parkland Drive reported receiving text messages falsely directing her to respond to court.
Monday, March 2, 3:02 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident (Prior): A report of a motor vehicle accident that occurred several days earlier at the 1 block of Andrew Avenue was filed in person at the Public Safety office.
Monday, March 2, 4:46–4:52 p.m. — Downed Wires: Broken and downed wires were reported on Highland Circle and Glezen Lane; utilities were notified.
Tuesday, March 3, 3:50 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-SUV crash at Rice and Turkey Hill roads sent one person to Newton-Wellesley Hospital; one vehicle was towed and the roadway was addressed by the Department of Public Works.
Tuesday, March 3, 4:22 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-car accident was reported at Cochituate and Woodridge roads.
Tuesday, March 3, 4:30 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A single-car accident at Cochituate Road and School Street; the vehicle was freed and driven away.
Tuesday, March 3, 4:45 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-vehicle crash was reported on Commonwealth Road.
Wednesday, March 4, 6:54 a.m.–8:11 a.m. — Storm-Related Wire and Tree Hazards: Multiple calls reported branches on wires and blocking roadways on Glezen Lane, Stonebridge Road, Caulfield Road at School Street, and Hickory Hill Road; one pole breaker fire was reported on Caulfield Road; utilities were notified and affected areas were addressed.
Wednesday, March 4, 11:11 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A collision involving a coyote was reported on Old Connecticut Path near Rice Road.
Wednesday, March 4, 2:42 p.m. — Animal Rescue: A caller from Heard Road requested assistance carrying an injured dog out of the woods; the Fire Department responded.
Wednesday, March 4, 6:46 p.m. — Gas Odor: An outside gas odor was reported on Eden Road; the gas company was notified.
Thursday, March 5, 5:46 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A driver reported striking a deer on Cochituate Road; no tow was needed.
Thursday, March 5, 7:51 a.m. — Downed Wires: Low-hanging wires on Old Connecticut Path near Charena Road were reported; utilities were notified and wires were moved off the roadway.
Thursday, March 5, 8:47 a.m. — Animal Call: An injured raccoon found by a Woodridge Road resident walked off into nearby woods before animal rescue arrangements were completed.
Thursday, March 5, 10:11 a.m. — Gas Leak: A propane odor was detected inside a Winthrop Terrace residence; responders shut down the system, ventilated the house, and the propane company arrived on scene.
Thursday, March 5, 1:34 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A van went off the roadway on Cochituate Road near Windy Hill Lane, knocking down the Windy Hill street sign; the Department of Public Works was notified.
Friday, March 6, 8:26 a.m. — Downed Wires: Downed wires were reported on Brook Trail Road; the utility was notified.
Saturday, March 7, 2:16 p.m. — Gas Odor: A slight gas odor inside a School Street residence was reported; the utility was notified.
Sunday, March 8, 5:16 p.m. — Road Hazard: A large stone blocking Boston Post Road at Vokes Theater was removed by responding personnel.
Monday, March 9, 8:37 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Incident: A driver at the 100 block of Commonwealth Road struck several snowbanks before entering a parking lot; the driver departed with a family member, with the vehicle to be retrieved later.
Monday, March 9, 11:18 a.m. — Carbon Monoxide Alarm: A carbon monoxide alarm activated in a Wheelock Road residence; the Fire Department confirmed the presence of carbon monoxide and ventilated the house until readings reached zero.
Monday, March 9, 8:43 p.m. — Traffic Signal Outage: Traffic lights at Commonwealth Road and Rice Road were reported not working; the electrical contractor responsible for maintenance was contacted after an on-scene reset was unsuccessful.
Tuesday, March 10, 11:09 a.m. — Larceny from Motor Vehicle: Items were reported stolen from a vehicle at 494 Boston Post Road; it was unclear whether the vehicle had been left unlocked.
Tuesday, March 10, 8:24 p.m. — Suspicious Activity: A Pilgrim Path resident reported two women who came to her door claiming to represent Verizon and asking to use her bathroom; the resident was advised.
Wednesday, March 11, 7:37 a.m. — Downed Wire: A communications wire was reported down across Timber Lane; the utility was notified.
Wednesday, March 11, 1:21 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A three-car accident at the 300 block of Commonwealth Avenue resulted in no injuries.
Wednesday, March 11, 6:01 p.m. — Water Main Break: A suspected sinkhole on Wheelock Road was confirmed to be a water main break; the Water Department responded.
Thursday, March 12, 2:30 p.m. — Downed Wire: A downed wire was reported on Marshall Terrace; the utility was notified.
Friday, March 13, 11:25 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A minor two-car accident at Commonwealth Avenue and Pemberton Road resulted in no injuries.
Friday, March 13, 12:39 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-vehicle crash in the parking lot at the 57 block of Main Street resulted in no injuries.
Friday, March 13, 12:58 p.m. — Downed Wires: Wires down on Edgewood Road; the utility was notified.
Friday, March 13, 1:54 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-car accident was reported at Main Street and Commonwealth Road.
Friday, March 13, 8:01 p.m. — Traffic Complaint: Officers responded to Andrew Avenue regarding vehicles parked in the roadway and other vehicles speeding around them.
Saturday, March 14, 1:58 p.m. — Fallen Tree: A tree partially obstructing Hearthstone Circle was moved off the roadway; the Department of Public Works was notified.
Saturday, March 14, 9:11 p.m. — Disturbance / Property Complaint: A caller at Alta Oxbow reported that a neighbor threw a traffic cone onto her vehicle; no damage was found and both parties were advised.
Sunday, March 15, 8:50 a.m. — Downed Wire: A wire was reported down on Old Connecticut Path; the utility was notified.
