The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Wayland Police Department's official public log for the period May 11–24, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).
Monday, May 11, 12:07 a.m. — Arrest: Police arrested Derrick James Todd, 53, of 160 Glezen Lane, under a warrant to detain for temporary custody.
Monday, May 11, 11:43 a.m. — Identity Fraud: A resident of Kelsey Road reported that a loan had been taken out in his name.
Tuesday, May 12, 1:40 a.m. — Property Damage: Exterior damage was discovered at TD Bank on the 50 block of Boston Post Road; a car was parked in the lot.
Tuesday, May 12, 7:37 a.m. — Carbon Monoxide / Gas Leak: A carbon monoxide alarm activated at a residence on East Plain Street. The Fire Department measured levels and ventilated the house; a gas leak inside was suspected.
Tuesday, May 12, 1:07 p.m. — Fuel Leak: The Fire Department responded to 110 Grill on the 170 block of Commonwealth Road for a vehicle leaking gasoline in the parking area.
Friday, May 15, 5:33 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-car crash was reported at Concord Road and Glezen Lane.
Friday, May 15, 5:41 p.m. — Scam / Harassment: A person from Spark Salon on the 25 block of Andrew Avenue came to the station to report a possible scam and harassment.
Friday, May 15, 6:52 p.m. — Fraud: A resident of Bayfield Road reported sending money to someone to purchase an item on his behalf that was never delivered.
Saturday, May 16, 3:21 a.m. — Wire Fire / Power Outage: A branch in contact with a wire was reported on fire on Glezen Lane; a power outage was noted on nearby Saddle Lane.
Sunday, May 17, 3:57 p.m. — Wildlife Incident: A resident of Waybridge Lane reported coyotes biting at his pool cover.
Sunday, May 17, 5:39 p.m. — Road Closure: Sherman's Bridge Road was closed after a fallen tree took down wires; the wires were removed and the road was reopened.
Monday, May 18, 6:53 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A car struck a tree and then a fire hydrant on West Plain Street, with the air bag deploying; one person was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
Tuesday, May 19, 9:24 a.m. — Vehicle Damage: Tree damage to a vehicle was reported on property on Rice Road.
Tuesday, May 19, 5:28–9:46 p.m. — Storm Damage: Tree-down and wire-down calls across Concord, Draper, Lincoln, and Joyce Roads amid weather-driven outages; Concord Road was cleared, Joyce Road was taped off to allow traffic to pass.
Tuesday, May 19, 8:13 p.m. — Wildlife / Roadway Hazard: An injured deer was reported in the roadway on Old Sudbury Road near a fire hydrant.
Thursday, May 21, 6:18 p.m. — Water Main: A resident of Pine Needle Road reported a possible water main break.
Friday, May 22, 8:02 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A three-car crash with no injuries was reported on Old Sudbury Road near Andrew Avenue.
Friday, May 22, 2:23 p.m. — Hit and Run: A motor vehicle hit-and-run accident was reported at Wayland Center.
Friday, May 22, 2:35 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Accident: A two-SUV crash occurred on Commonwealth Road.
Friday, May 22, 4:15 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Stop: Following a traffic stop, a summons was issued for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Sunday, May 24, 8:14 a.m. — Assault: An assault between two residents was reported at Royal Wayland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on the 180 block of Commonwealth Road; the incident occurred the previous night.
